BBC - Ask Jeeves to be sold for $1.85bn (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4367197.stm)

Thought this would be interesting for discussion here. What do people think? Ask Jeeves to become as important as Google/Yahoo/MSN? Time to start taking notice of the SEO techniques for this engine? Could there be a fourth big contextual advertising option?

Very interesting. I think it's worth more than the amount it was sold for. What is the 4th largest search engine if ask jeeves is 5th? AOL?

I get a boat load of traffic from Ask Jeeves for a couple of my sites. I hope they do well.

May be why in the last few months it seemed as though they were trying to grow their index very fast. I'm pretty sure all my sites were fully spidered.

I think it is amazing how the purchasers network of sites is. They have properties like Match.com and Expedia.com. Wow.
