I got a Yahoo listing for a category that ranks very well for my keywords. Google picked up the page a week later and now 2 weeks have passed and I haven't seen any SERP increase for these keywords.

How much time have it taken in the past for your sites to benefit from a Yahoo listing in a cat using your target keywords?

I work for a company that had two sites up and running before I came in. One site had been included in the yahoo directory and dmoz directory. Get Debt Free (http://www.getdebtfree.com)

The second site was not included in either. Debt Free (http://www.debtfree.com)

The thing that I've noticed is that with the one in the yahoo directory, it has very low rank in the serps in yahoo and msn. I do however get approx. 30 times the amount of traffic from google than yahoo and msn combined.

The one that isn't included in either directory gets a little more traffic from yahoo than google. However The placement in yahoo is much better by not wasting the money to get into there directory, I've been trying to get the other site unlisted for about 3 months so far.

I guess I'm trying to say that you shouldn't get your hopes up, it seems to me that yahoo considers that listing for the basis of your entire site. If you are sucessful with the yahoo directory as far as getting a good listing in there free search, at least comparable to google, let me know. I love it when I'm wrong about stuff, and I probably am here, but I've had horible luck with Yahoo and Overture.
