There must be minimum navigation on a page, and whatever navigation is present, should be easy to use. There must not be more than 5 to 10 menu navigation items, and the depth should be limited to only 2 or 3 branches. Simple and lesser navigation has visitors stay longer and interact more with the website.

Yes, there is an article written about this I believe the main take from this UX designer is that a user should click no more than three times on a website to find what they require. This is why I fond things like mega menus and the use of the astounding.

Even worse when you look at a ta website on mobile, mega menus become an absolute mess.

You don't need every page in your nav many just your main pages - the content on those pages should have call to action to deeper pages so as to create a nice flow of information for users.
