What is the general consensus about this network? I hear it get trashed alot on abestweb.... is it really that bad or is it hit or miss? Or is it a good experiance?

I do alot of business through linkshare and am very happy with them. It seems to me most people who bash them really have no grounds for it. Usually they bash them because of a merchant not paying, well thats the merchant's fault, not linkshare.

do you really have to have the link exactly as they give it to you? I notice on many coupon sites that is not the case.

No, only if you want full tracking.

I am just starting out and I've made just shy of $200 in the last month from one of their programs. If they are trying to screw me they are really hiding it well. Their customer service kind of lacks some good personal attention, but other than that I can't complain about anything.
