There are two parts to creating content that you want to rank on search engines and these are:

Create/write the copy without thinking of SEO, just focus on serving the reader.
Optimize the web copy for SEO. Now you can think of SEO.
SEO writing refers to writing a copy and optimizing it for search.

So the basics are, for the most part, the same as any good writing.

Use headings and subheadings
Have a good title
Keep the reader's attention
Make use of list items
Keep your paragraphs short
Be relevant
Be useful
Include your keywords naturally
Use synonyms of words in the keyword
Use keyword variations
