HAHAHAHA -- oh, you're serious?!

Did you just switch and forget to import your bookmarks?
If not, I've never heard of anyone who has lost all of their bookmarks before.

okay calm down. I use IE, I dont know what else one would need for just browsing.

Security only matters if your visiting X rated sites or Warez. I dont believe there are evil activex controls at the sites I vist

Tabbed browsing is overrated.

IE runs a little faster for some reason.

Popups are blocked with Service Pack 2 anyway.

If I am wrong someone please correct me. :)

IE is ok for personal users, but for business users like us it's too risky. It's so easy for someone to put a key logger onto our computers and use it to gain access to our servers.

that is indeed potentially dangerous

Suuuuure it does, suuuure. ;)

No it's not, and either are better options, faster loading speed, and tons of great extensions.

No it doesn't.

Your whole computer will even run slower with all of the adware and spyware that IE lets seep in. It's nice to not have to run Spybot Search & Destroy, Adaware, Spy Subtractor, and more to be able to not have any spyware or adware on your computer--and that's just from ordinary sites people visit, like jokes sites and online game sites, or even just sites people use for research. Also, it won't correctly render pages, keeping the internet from progressing at the speed it could be.

boo@internet explorer.

IE, is too risky for even personal users. Especially those who bank online or use their credit card online (most people do one or both of these things).

Yeah, I got a beta version a year ago and didn't like it, but now I'm on version 1 and I hate IE.

The only time I don't like tabs is when I need firefox and IE open at the same time cause it confuses me. (Both need to be open at same time when I test designs).

Dont use tabs in Firefox when you're testing designs then?

Multi-window abilities remain in firefox as a legacy feature :)

hey, i use the multiple windows, that why have that thing called a taskbar along the bottom! :)

I will often have upto 10 different tabs open at once - the taskbar gets a bit cluttered when you have more than 5 or 6 windows open.

I would recommend having a go with tabs, before long you'll wonder why you put up with multiple windows.

10 different tabs. indeed.

Me too - middle click and a new one loads the link you're interested in. Great for when you hit a forum and want to load up all the threads of interest in one shot.

Yep, I do that too. Also I have it setup so that searches using the search bar in the top right open in a new tab - very useful.

MarkB

Ooh how did you do that? that'd be very useful.

Basically, what it comes down to is that Firefox is the best CONSUMER browser AND webmaster browser out there; it has great tools for us, as webmasters, and it also answers consumer needs regularly (especially with its extension technology).

It's tops as, eh!

I think the option is only available if you install the 'tabbrowser extensions' extension I think its called, will check later. Its the one that gives you the extra tab menu by the bookmark menu. It also allows you r to save tab sessions etc, so you can save the current open tabs, close the browser, then open it again, load the tab session and it loads them all up for you.
