Google has done an update.

According to Digital Point my backlinks increased, and pages indexed increased, for all my new datafeed sites, and nearly every search term I watch had some major movement (upwards, yippee). Previously my coupon site was in the dumps, a couple weeks ago I sent Google an email asking if maybe it was being penalized. It had been ranked well in June and July but then in august many of my AWS sites got pushed down, and my coupon site, which included AWS content, did as well. So I removed the AWS stuff in hopes I could get some rankings back, and it looks like I'm on my way.

Can't really see much improvement on my part...

My sites seem to have gone down the pan, but this is mainly (I hope) because I wasn't linking to them from my main site. I changed that this afternoon - hopefully it'll pick up again soon.

51 pages indexed on my site, Cheat Fire (http://cheatfire.com) which is a datafeed site; however, my other site Buy Video Games (http://buy-video-games.net) still only has the homepage indexed.

So Google has dropped the rolling updates and gone back to major periodical updates?

how does one find backlinks? Just a link:sitename ?

Yea link:sitename.com works best for me, try searching on Yahoo or All The Web, they seem to show the most backlinks.

I wanted to compare rankings amongst these 3 datacenters.

For me, my best results are on: 64.233.171.147

Second best results are on: 216.239.59.105

And worst results are on the live server, www.google.com.

I have a site which, up until a few days ago, was consistently getting about 2000 visitors a day. On 12/16, my traffic started to tank. Over the last 4 days, my traffic has been at about 25% of normal.

Since people have been talking about a Google update, I decided to check my backlinks. I was surprised to see that Google now lists 0 backlinks for the site. The site is listed in DMOZ; it used to have dozens if not hundreds of backlinks to the home page.

The site is still in Google. It just doesn't have any backlinks.

Chris noted in his opening post that he thought one of his sites was being penalized due to AWS content. My site has AWS content in a separate sub-domain (e.g., store.mysite.com). The main content site links to the AWS stuff and vice versa. Does anyone think Google could be penalizing to the point of killing backlinks?

I wouldn't worry about it. If you still have your google rankings then it's not a problem anyway. Your backlinks will probably re-appear in the near future. Your drop in traffic is probably just due to people having other Christmas stuff to do instead of surfing the net.

I'm experiencing a similar drop in traffic, and at the same time, a major drop in advertising revenue (as in about 80% less!). It'll get back to normal after the Christmas holiday I expect.

Same here, my revenue has taken a sharp drop in the last week or so.
