Hi Friend,
A redirect is a way to send both users and search engines to a different URL from the one they originally requested. The three most commonly used redirects are 301, 302, and Meta Refresh. Most of the time people using 301 permanent redirect and passing also the link juice from the old page to new.

And sometimes we use 302 redirect as well.
