Hi guys,

For my template website I have been uploading to a host which I got ages ago for a totally different domain, so I need a new one. This one I have at the moment is very unreliable, and I am not going to risk them on such a site.

So, could anyone reccomend me one that has the following please?

200MB Space
2GB Bandwidth
PHP Support
MySQL Support
Domain included
Reliable
Under £25 per year

Probably a lot to ask, but has anyone got any suggestions please?

Cheers,
Mike:)

*turns away looking embarassed:)*

Anyway, please could someone give me their reccomendations?

For under £25 per year, you won't find a reliable host anywhere. You get what you pay for and for under £25 per year you get problems.

Hi emke.

What would you say is a reasonable price for what I am requesting?

Mike:)

I honestly don't know. I moved from shared hosting more than a year ago and haven't looked back since.

I have a reseller account for $25/month and I get 12 GB bandwidth and 1 GB space. The advantage with a reseller account is that you can have as many sites as you want to. You pay only for the domain which are really cheap now days anyway.

I didn't put the name of the web hosting company that I'm with as I don't know if Chris would consider it as spam. If you're interested you can PM me and I'll let you know.

Recommending a third party service isn't spam.

emke -

Thanks for your quick reply...

Unfortunately £25 a month is a little expensive for me (considering I don't really know how much money the site will make yet). But thanks very much for your help.

Thanks for clarification Chris. I've had some problems on message boards before so it's better to ask first than to be classified as a spammer. :D

The company is http://www.voxtreme.com and I have nothing but good things to say about them.

Mike

you can also try http://www.webhostingtalk.com. It's a huge community of web hosts. There might be some "budget" host that is recommended. Whatever you decide for do a search on WHT and see what other people think of the company. Better be safe than sorry.:)

Looking at their site it looks pretty good...

Don't suppose anyone here can work out what $20 is in English pound sterling? That's what the first plan is, and I could be interested if I find out the English price!

Thanks for all help emke!

I'm on the plan above.

Here is the Currency Converter I used http://www.xe.com/ucc/ for your future reference.

You should contact Voxtreme so they can explain to you how reselling accounts work and everything. ;)

Thanks for all your help mate...

Unfortunately, that $20 one has been 'discontinued', so I will probably send in a sales equiry on there.

Anyway, thanks again:)

Anything under $5 per month is going to be really risky in my opinion... unless you don't need your site to be up or need customer service.

It costs money to provide hosting services, and as said above you get what you pay for. I can reccommend several companies over $5/month if you can afford them... www.hostsave.com is good at $7.95/month

They seem pretty good, can't find anyone with any experiences with them though:S

Free?

They seem one of the biggest hosts in England - they advertise everywhere.
