Difficult to say without knowing their traffic levels. I would imagine anywhere from 100GB/month upwards.

Its difficult to guess without knowing traffic numbers but both sites have first pages that are about half meg. They probably get thousands of visitors and if the visitors are only going the first page its still going to be huge bandwidth amounts.

From those details I'd say they push a LOT more than 100gigs/month. Its difficult to estimate, but I would imagine its in the hundreds of gigs/week and you'd be talking about server clusters and sustained bandwidth. Thats talking about betdaq which seems to be 1/100th the amount pageviews of betfair. Thats my best guestimate.

Both these site betfair & betdaq seem to be dot Net applications. From hardware point of view, what kind of windows servers should be good enough to handle the sites (provided with sufficient bandwidth)? From software point of view.. is IIS good enough to handle such a web site?

microsoft runs their sites off IIS. MSN is one of the most visited sites on the Internet.

one more (newbie) question pls....

kinda confused while posting but neways..

What do you mean when you have a 2 MB link for your dedicated server?

How can it be compared with 100 Gigs/Month bandwidth :(

no q is a stupid q :o

If I understand your question correctly it means that, with a 2MB "link" to your server you can download/upload at a maximum rate of 2MB/sec - with no limit to how much bandwidth you can use in a month besides the physical limit which is time.
