So this does not break the rules, don't say who you want to win, why someone will win, etc, just who you think will win.

I think Bush will win.

I think I made it quite clear not to show who you want to win. The winner is going to be Kerry or Bush no question about that.

George W. Bush

People have shown up. The early voting lines are over 4 hours long! All the people I have seen in line though are Bush supporters. Maybe its just where I live.

Do they have things like the Monster Raving Looney Party in America?

moonshield
11-01-2004, 01:51 PM
i dont know what that is. Monster Raving Looney Party? There are the Green, Socialist, Libertarian, and Independent parties as the 'third party'. The two main ones as everyone knows are Republican and Democrat.

The main problem is the USA has become a 2 party system, and those parties do not differ that greatly...

Don't for get the independent candidates, like Ralph Nader is this year.

I've never been to America. I've never been outside Europe. At the moment I would not want to go to the USA because of airport security other there...

Do you mean because there is not enough security and you fear for your safety, or there is too much security and you fear being hassled or detained?

moonshield

i was wondering the same thing... the airports are pretty secure over here now, far more secure then they were.

Too much in some respects, too little in others.

There isn't enough to stop knives, but they hassle alot of people coming into their country...

Anyone watching Dead Ringers special?

Are you sure? All the people there seemed very friendly :)

Seriously though, I guess not, would love to drive around america sometime.

We decided to drive to the yosemite place, but only actually left about lunch time, so it was dark when we got there :) Monkeys...

indeed, if you were to go to, say New York City, you wouldnt likely meet many very friendly people. I think the east coast is where its at. Im not a fan of the west. Just my opinions though.

My wife got a pocket knife from Lansing to Detroit to Amsterdam to Dar Es Salaam and back to Amsterdam before they caught it.

At the original check in Lansing they almost caught it, they gave her extra scrutiny, but they gave up after finding an electric toothbrush (atleast I think they saw the knife).

I think Kerry will win. And I'd love to visit the US, but not with the current administration in place (personal boycott;))

Which makes you wonder how easy it would be for someone that knew how to hide something, doesn't it .

I think it is all "hype" about the increased security personally.

Then again, I am not in America so do not know first hand.

As for this threads topic - Bush.

Anyone know a live results website or hasn't the counting begun?

Westech
11-02-2004, 08:05 AM
Most states close the polls around 7:00pm local time, so you should start seeing official results trickle in after that. Throughout the day you can probably find exit polls for the important electoral states on US news websites like cnn.com , foxnews.com , abcnews.com , etc.

I'm amazed by the turnout in my area. I just waited in line for an hour to vote.

EDIT: Actually, it looks as if most news outlets have agreed to hold off on exit poll predictions this year until the polls for that state have closed: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6385064/

Looks like we may not see any results until tonight.

MarkB
11-02-2004, 08:30 AM
Incka, counting won't begin until around 2am our time, as far as I know. BBC1 has coverage from 11.30p to 5am tonight (I'm taking tomorrow off work!:))

I think the networks have abandoned the exit polls thing because of the problems they had last year (when exit polls didn't mirror the final result, causing embarassment).

I'm going to watch it, but I'm still going to school next day, have two short one hour sleeps before and after the broadcast then as soon as I come home have a nice long sleep.

If I remember rightly everyone was saying democrats took lead in Florida, but fox changed said Bush, and so the others changed to Bush or something, this was from Fahrenheit 911 or one of Moore's books.

moonshield

Moore? PLEEAAAAAAAAASEEEEEEE. Moore is just a sensualist and a liar. Dont blieve anything he says.

I loved Dead Ringers version of Michael Moore.. cracked me up. Anyone know if they are reshowing it sometime?

MarkB
11-02-2004, 12:24 PM
poorman: he may snap the truth and twist it until it no longer resembles the original facts, but calling him a LIAR is a bit harsh ;) LOL

Mind you - those words you use could be used to describe certain leaders, too :p

Xander: I doubt it... although you never know. It was a poor episode, but Moore was the highlight :)

Mostly religous-based forums.

I love going onto Christian-Fundamentalist forums and trying to convert them to Atheist... It's so funny...
