Amazon Searchbox

Has anyone had good sales using a Amazon Searchbox for general pages? I have had good results with highly targeted ads on niche pages, but not so good results with text ads on general pages.

I dont really like search boxes and i doubt they are really used much i would go with recommended targeted ad boxes instead ..

The best sales always come from deep-linking. We tackled the problem of mass linking to products a couple of years ago and have produced software to get them. amazon search box may work alright. I used the google Adsense search thing and had about a 80% click through. Maybe they just wanted to get off my site :)
