Your actual cost-per-click (actual CPC) is the final amount you're charged for a click. Actual CPC is often less than max. CPC because with the Google Ads auction, the most you'll pay is what's minimally required to hold your ad position and any ad formats shown with your ad, such as sitelinks.

Cost per click, which usually goes by the acronym of CPC, has two different meanings. For a search engine, the term cost per click means how much the search engine charges advertisers each time a visitor clicks on a sponsored link. Cost per click can also mean the total cost accrued by the advertiser when the ad is clicked on, from just listing the ad to the additional cost of the click-through on the part of the visitor.

Cost per click, or CPC, is the amount you pay for each click on one of your PPC ads in platforms such as Google AdWords or Bing Ads. Your cost per click is determined by several factors, including your maximum bid, your Quality Score, and the ad rank of other advertisers bidding for the same keyword

CPC means cost per click. In practice, this is what you pay each time a user clicks on your ad to visit your site.

You have to distinguish the real CPC , which means how much you really pay for a click, the CPC Max where you give a limit to Google that will not exceed this amount for each click.

Your Real CPC may be smaller than your Max CPC. For example, if you have a CPC Max of 0.40 cents and the competitor in front of you has a CPC of 0.35 cents with a similar level of quality, your Real CPC will be 1 cent higher than that of your competitor, or 0.41 cents to be positioned just below him.
