Meta Tag helps webmaster to provide information about their website to Search Engine. Meta tags are added to the <head> section of HTML page.
There are four types of meta tags in SEO:-

1) Meta Keywords Attribute:- A series of keywords you deem relevant to the page in question. Use the following tips for preparing good meta keywords tags.
a) Use synonyms
b) Use unique keywords.
c) No need to repeat any given phrase.

2) Title Tag:- This is the text you'll see at the top of your browser. Search engines view this text as the "title" of your page.
3) Meta Description Attributes:- A brief description of the page. There should not be more than 150 characters in a description metatag of a single web page.
4) Meta Robots Attributes:- An indication to search engine crawlers (robots or "bots") as to what they should do with the page.
