Keyword density is a widely used term that is a hot topic around the SEO community. It gives search engines an idea on which topic your web page is. Try to keep keyword density of a web page around 1% – 3%, because if you go above 3%, it might be triggered as keyword stuffing in the eyes of search engines.

Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. In the context of search engine optimization, keyword density can be used to determine whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase.

Ex:
In an article of 100 words you are using your keyword 10 times, your density will be 10%.

Keyword density is the percentage of the number of times a keyword appears on a page divided by the total number of words in that page. So if in an article of 100 words you are using your keyword 10 times, your density will be 10%. Many people use different formulas to calculate keyword density (like this one).
