Hi,

What are the best ways to check for corrupted data in hard drives? It hasn't happened to me yet - I just want to prepare. I'm thinking about writing php scripts to compare data downloaded from Mysql database tables at the hosting and compare against data that I store in my personal computer at home. The thing is the server's hard drive that stores my website at hosting could be bad, or my PC's hard drive could be bad. How do you do it? Any article about it?

Thanks,
John

MYSQL has built in functions for detecting and fixing corrupted tables.

Thanks both. I can do both like you said, but I still think some data may not be retrievable in the bad region of hard drive or cd rom disc. I guess there might be some types of check sum to check even one letter on an article is missing or changing, then that means something bad happen.
