As a CIP protocol, Ethernet/IP defines two connection methods for its TCP/IP communications. These are explicit messages, using transmission control protocol (TCP), and implicit (input or output) messages using user datagram protocol (UDP).

As I know ics protocol in simple terms, is a method used for transmitting information over serial lines between electronic devices. And there are many ics protocol (https://www.cyberbit.com/) available from which you can choose the one that you like and with which you want to go.
