Hi,

I've just published my first site which is based on the Dr. Phil diet www.dr-phil-diet.org (http://www.dr-phil-diet.org/.).

And was just wondering if anyone could offer me any advice on general promtion issues? I've exchanged links with a few sites. Submitted it to yahoo, google and dmoz. I think I've optimised it for search engine bots? My domain is key word rich. Is there anything else I need to know???

Cheers,

cat

I would take down all advertisements until you have a decent amount of traffic coming to the site. I say that because you're going to want to start to do link exchanges, and many sites won't want to link to you if your site comes off as commercial.

Hi,

I've taken down all the advertising. But left it in my code commented out. Do you think that's ok. I wasn't sure if poeple look that far in?

thanks

I doubt most do (I never do anyway).

That should be fine. But don't overestimate the effectiveness of keywords in a domain name - it doesn't matter much anymore. Domains with dashes almost never get type-ins.

Domains with dashes almost never get type-ins.

Is that a fact?

I get a lot of type-ins and loads of my domains have dashes in them.

My WarInIraq.net domain gets far more type ins than my World-War-2.net domain. World War 2 is searched for far more than War In Iraq too.
