Free Merchant is no longer free...

Hahaha... Maybe they should change their name. That's false advertising.

First of all, thanks for the list! It helped me greatly!

Xmart Ecommerce has a great looking, economical site if you are a small business looking to sell a few things. What you get for the price is way better than anywhere else.

But, one major annoyance with them is that I am pretty sure it is a one-man show. The only sales rep I ever get is a guy named "Scott (I'll leave out his last name)." My email rep is the same guy - and he never answers his email.

Scott is listed as the Point of Contact on the Xmart Ecommerce site.

Xmart Ecommerce says that a company called Digital Placebo is their parent company. I go the Digital Placebo site, and in their news releases, there is a release where "Scott" is quoted, and his title is "President of Digital Placebo."

More power to him, if he is running everything by himself - and like I said, the store is great. But, it makes me feel like I've been had with the whole phoney "Parent Company" thing, and like I said - there is little to NO customer service.

If you ask a direct question through email or call, don't expect a response. Even when your store is down.

While Western Union wont work for day to day eCommerce it could work for big ticket items or single sales. Maybe someone who is buying a domain from you and they don't have other options avialable to them..

Thanks for including Actinic, however it should be in the Shopping Cart Solutions list - it is a desktop software solution, not browser-based.

I'm planning on using volusion.com because I don't have the time and full understanding of building my own eCommerce site. I'll rather focus on building my business and SEO. Price seems to be reasonable and I find the support and training very helpful
They also have Category Page Optimization for SEO build in which is one type of SEO I will use.
Anyone on here with any experience with volusion.com?
Thanks

I think you should add Magento (magentocommerce.com (http://www.magentocommerce.com)) and Avactis (avactis.com (http://www.avactis.com)) to your list of shopping carts.

eBay purchased StoreSense and renamed it ProStores (http://prostores.com).

Now we also have www.bigcommerce.com which is from Interspire.
