which one counts?

for as long as i've been checking my backlinks, i've been checking them as "link:www.lyricallysquared.com" and the typical result was about 1000 backlinks (almost all internal)

as i'm on a different computer right now, and i don't have auto-complete on, i searched for "link: www.lyricallysquared.com" instead without realizing, only to see that i had 26,800 backlinks... which makes me a lot happier than seeing 1000, obviously :p.. so which one is the more accurate one? hopefully the latter.. =)

I see different backlinks numbers on different computers too.

If you look at the results for the second, the search is picking up pages with link and the site address on the same page, not necessarily pages that link in. They might be one and the same, which just goes to suggest that the link:nospace does not record the correct amount of backlinks that google sees.

Hay, if I try it with the site in my sig, the results are reversed (ie the spaceed search gives less results!)
