How much will keyword positioning affect your ranking?

Take for example, "rays-photography-resources." If we are optimising for the keywords "photography resources", which would be better:

1) rays-photography-resources
2) photography-resources-online

... in terms of heading tags, anchor text, alt text, title text etc.

Is it important that the keywords being optimized for are at the start, as in option 2 above? Or doesn't it matter where they appear, so long as they are there?

I'm talking purely from an search engine point of view, not a human one.

Also, would "photography-resources" be better than all of the above because this is 100% keywords. Or doesn't that really matter, beyond one or two extra non-keywords?

Cheers,

Richard.

#2 keyword position, especially in things like your title, can make a difference so #2. For your domain though it'll be less of an issue (if one at all).

photography-resources by itself would be better for the reason you surmised.
