WOW! partner sites!?!

This amazed me! I could not believe what I saw. There is a partner ring composed of some major websites doing global link exchanges in a way where the only benefit is obviously for search engine placement. These links are not in a place where visitors would regularly click on them.

I really was amazed!

Check out the footers of these participating sites:

On expedia they aren't links :\ --Either that or my browser's broke.

That's an interesting combonation of websites--I could understand expedia, hotwire and hotels, but not ticketmaster match and lending tree.

Quite possible as it seems they have the same core setup. When I went to two they both redirected in the same way to the Australian sites...

Cant even get into Expedia with firefox! The choose you location links just dont do anything... links to the same page again with a # after it.

.co.uk works ok though, but there werent any links at the bottom of there.

They're all owned by InterActiveCorp (iac.com) I believe. They're quite a large company.

Yep, and they are a publicly listed company on NASDAQ (ticker symbol IACI).

So you can be part owner of all these popular websites :)
