What do you mean? Sites that have a product and have affiliates? Or sites that promote affiliate programs?

Most people have had success with some of their sites, but are unwilling to say which because of the fear of lurkers.

Commerce, the buying and selling of goods makes money.

Sites that facilitate commerce in some way have good money making potential. If someone goes to your site, already planning on making a purchase, you can make money off them.

So for example, a wireless phone reviews site. People visiting it will be visiting it because they want a new phone or new provider. People in that state of mind are golden to advertisers so you can get higher premiums than say, an educational site.

You can apply that same concept to hundreds of industries or products.

Look at the #1 result for Wireless Phone Reviews:

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&q=wireless+phone+reviews

Now that's a site making some money. :)

Now go to www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion and type in wireless phone reviews. Now that isn't much searches. :P

I meant affiliates as in CPM and CPC. Whats probably the most a site other than search engines can make with CPM and CPC.

I believe the best ebay affiliates earn six figures monthly.

Isn't eBay's program CPA? The current issue of Revenue has an article on eBay's affiliate program.

The top 100 affiliates earn almost $25,000 a month. The top 25 affiliates average more than $100,000 monthly suggesting an annual income of at least $1.2 million.

$1.2 million just by referring people to eBay?

Well, people must send some serious users. You can make up to $20.00 per active registration. You make some change per bid and buy it now.

For example, say you generate 3,000 active registrations and 6,000 bids and BINs in a single month. You will reach the $18.00 tier for active registrations and also be compensated $0.15 for each bid and BIN. In total your monthly commissions will be $48,000.15 ($18.00 x 3,000 + $0.15 x 6,000)!

They would be making alot just from the bids that they are now getting from all the people they refered. Possibly on a custom earning tier also...

Yep, ebay users make a lot. $17 a referral on azoogle, and I've been told that the top affiliates on that are breaking $100k a month. But how do you implement a program like ebay? Apart from making an auction review site or something, I can't really see how you can do it.

You can pull any listings you want from eBay. If your sites content is based around anything that could be sold on eBay, you could implement it. And since auctions are always ending and starting the content never goes stale. It's not entirely flexible though, like AWS or anything.

I decided to try it out to see what it's like. The only thing I don't like is you can't customize the link colors or the background color. But you can show as many or as little auctions as you please. You can show or not show images, time left, how many bids, you can break it down by a seller if you want, you can set a price range. I used the Editor Kit (http://cgi3.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?EKCreate) (need ebay login).

Are any eBay providers better than others?

Editor Kit offers choices of Commission Junction, Be Free and Mediaplex. Is Azoogleads not also one?

I'm sure Alex told me the top ebay search affiliates were breaking $1m a month.

It depends on how many signups (and valid registrations you can do). If you can make it to the higher tiers then you will make more going directly via Commision Junction - they are the ones that all the other networks go through. The other networks have a higher commision rate because they have reached higher tiers from all their publishers.

As for the Editor Kit - those are the only 3 that offer it as they are all owed by the same company.

I think (not 100% sure, but I think) Azoogle ads's ebay offer is done through CJ. They must be on a really high tier so that can afford to pay their affiliates $17 for a sign up that bids.

Sean, no affiliate on azoogle earns $1m+ a month altogether, nevermind on one offer.

Yea, I think you told me ebay affiliates were earning $10m a year. I asked Alex and he said about 100k a month.

I believe Azoogle only pays out 3 mil per month.
