adsense vs. fastclick

i'm displaying adsense ads (leaderboard) and fastclick 468x60 banner ads on one of my sites. google says i'm registering about 12,000 impressions on average, whereas fastclick says i'm registering only an average of about 8,500. after factoring out pages viewed by googlebot etc. i'm showing about 13,000 page views per day, which is more or less consistent with adsense. so what's the reason for such a large discrepancy between google and fastclicK?

Maybe fastclick doesn't tally charitable ads impressions they show, and google does?
Just a guess.

well, i do know that google does. no experience with fastclick however

both seem to be undercounting impressions, but fastclick is missing like 1/3 of them

why wouldn't it be? one is context-based text ads. the other are banner ads.
