Which domain registrars do you use and would recommend?

namecheap.com - cheap with a great interface.

I've used Dotster for years. I've always liked their service.

Alot of people also seem to like GoDaddy. I have one domain there, but only because I got it with a site I bought and just haven't moved it to Dotster yet. GoDaddy is pretty nice though, just too cluttered for me.

Register4Less.com

They accept PayPal, cost a few dollars more but I don't buy many domains so it is no problem.

I have used NameCheap & GoDaddy and they are both good. I like NameCheap better due to its interface & the fact that GoDaddy bombard you with "add-on sales" adverts during the purchase kind of annoys me.

Cheers...

I use directnic.com, registerfly.com and namecheap.com. The last two I've used pretty much exclusively the past year, simply because they take paypal while directnic doesn't... although I do prefer directnic.

Being in the UK I use ukreg.com. Have not been able to fault them for a good number of years.

But £9 for a .com domain? Ouchie!

namecheap.com - absolutely great. When you have a lot of domains, their interface is the best I've used. They don't try to sell you a load of stuff you don't need and they're cheap too.

domainsite.com, solely because of the price: $6.99

I've used Dotster since 2000. It's $14.95/year, not at all cheap.. but I enjoy them.

I suggest moving to namechaeap or registerfly.

Yeah not great - but I do not register volume with them and for a few domains a year the support and service level more than makes up for it.

I use UKREG as well, but Godaddy for .coms because of the price. Service seems OK at both of them.

Shopping around is all well and good, but too many different registrars must make renewals difficult to keep on top of.

Who keeps a seperate record of when domain names expire, or do you just rely on the regisrars reminders?

I rely on the registra to send me an email - I had one recently. I suppose if I was organised I would setup reminders in Outlook...

I had some ugly times with Registerfly. They put a registrar lock on all the domains I had there WITHOUT NOTICE and after several failed transfer requests I confirmed I could not release the lock from my control panel. I had to get one of their support people to release the locks.

That was more than a year ago, so things may have changed...

Try 000domains.com
They have been around a long time, have a good reputation, and I have not had any problems with them.
