I know that having a database driven site is a lot easier than having a stastic site, right? Well, how would reducing a 300+ page site that has a keyword-rich text menu on every page along with keywords in the bodies be effected when a database is implemented to reduce it to say 20 pages?

Also, what about keywords embedded in CSS(?)? Do I know anything about CSS or should this be a concern too?

A database driven site shouldn't reduce the number of "pages" just the number of files needed to serve those pages.

For instance my literature site has over 13,000 pages but less than 10 files.

This site is DB driven as well.

The most important thing is to use search engine friendly URLs.

CSS is just for formatting -- it won't affect your SE rankings at all.
