I read a thread on another forum that putting dozens and dozens of links from an established site to a new site couldtriger the sandbox effect.

Would it be better to put only a few links from untill google indexed the page and then start the full linking campaign ?

I don't know. I am aware of the theory, I'm not sure its accurate. And why do you need dozens of links?

I link from Jalic.com to new sites to give them PR boosts. Its only 1 link per page though, still I've not noticed any kind of penalty or filter, the PR boost works as it should.

I currently link from a PR6 page and from my signature here which shouldn't be a lot of links. I've got a blog about search engines (among other web subjects) so linking from all those blogpost pages would certainly increase PR and local rank.

Well my page is in Google ( 2 days :D ) and it's ranking fairly well for only having a very few backlinks ( they don't show yet ofcourse ). I'll add more baclinks to it once Google shows the current backlinks.
