Cross Promotion?

Could someone tell me if there is any point linking four or five times from a popular site, to another of your sites to build pagerank and popularity?

four or five times on the same page, no -- on different pages of the same site, sure.

Well it would be four or five times on the homepage, then about twice on every other page.

Also, would it decrease the pagerank of the popular site?

No, it'd decrease the PR of the popular site. So you only want to do this with sites that have PR they don't need.
