Topxen.com and newhost.ro are two companies which were advised me to have a VPS account from, which way would you follow being in my place?

Those are local Romanian web hosting providers and they might be good for the local market or for a website that targets the European market.

I must say that both web hosts have really good reputation in the hosting market.
Try to contact them both, tell your requirements, see what they will offer to you and then make your final decision.

I think you should get more reliable options. Check for AJKservers (http://www.ajkservers.co.uk/) VPS solutions. You will get high performance servers, low prices and featured plans.

I think that Hostingsource (http://www.hostingsource.com/) will perfectly suit your demands. They are providing high performance services for a reasonable pricing with knowledgeable support.

Look for a minimum uptime of 99%. In fact, even 99% is actually too low - it really should be 99.5% or higher.

AS an alternative I recommend Zeropid.com VPS plans. Many webmasters from all over the world are satisfied with their performance, stability and competitive prices.

I was told planethoster.net is proven to be the best VPS provider - is that true?
I think of trying them, any reviews of them?

I suppose you need to do a comparison of plans and choose the best one. As I see Shineservers (https://www.shineservers.com/) has high reputation. They provide their services with all necessary resources to feel fine in the IT world. Prices are reasonable.

Look at your current usage and double it at least, triple is even better because coming half way through the month and running out of bandwidth is probable the worst thing you can do for your website.

Go for stability, not just size. Just because the host if offering you unmetered and unlimited space, doesn't mean you should soley base your decision on that. What good is that account to you when your site is down or the server is overloaded?
