Hello people. I am Lee and i work for my parents. I design their webiste for their store Called The Head Nut.
The Head Nut (http://www.theheadnut.com)

Its a coffee spices tea nuts and dried fruit store and i am trying to enhance it and gain better ranking on search engines. I am having issues with the Title Part where it ranks it and how it scores it on SEO sites. Any ideas on where i should enhance?

You are looking to enhance to make your site better SEO? Or just better overall?

I know I can't really speak but I don't like the design...

There are some nice coffee bean templates on mytemplatestorage sites, such as www.templatestorm.com & www.templatepark.com

Its ok incka your entitled to your opinion and i am open to all and any critizism and comments. What is it that you dislike about the design is the tables? I am not sure as to if tables are in now or not?

Compare it against you competition:

You need a layout, your just doing content.

I agree with Incka I'm afraid. It just looks a bit plain at the moment. You need some nice graphics / pictures to "spice" (<cough> sorry!) it up a bit.

As far as SEO is concerned... if you're talking generally, follow some of the articles on this site. If you have anything you're not clear about, feel free to ask.

No offence but no would trust would buy from a site that looks like it’s made by a 9 year old (sorry). The site is giving your business an unprofessional look.

Unfortunately what i have learned and done is by my own i havent had as much practice as alot of ya'll because i also do weather forecasting. And work like 70+ hours a week some weeks near 90. But i am also working on the site also little by little.

I would recommend buying a layout then, but since you may not know how to edit layouts and stuff, try downloading a free layout, playing around with, and then buy a good layout.

LMolineux, that design is pretty bad. I suggest looking around for a free/cheap template that you can edit to suit your needs.

I agree the site could use some work, but I also think something is better than nothing. In other words, it's better to have a site published, even if it needs a lot of work, than to not be there at all. A famous management guru used to say "ready, fire, aim".

I also think "slick" sites can be overdone. Would you rather get your nuts from a nut dealers website or from a web designer selling nuts? I think many buyers will make allowances for the small business that is trying hard.

You could get a custom design done at a place like designoutpost.com for a couple hundred.

Sorry but I wouldn't carry on through your site if I was just browsing around. It's not very inviting and is hard to browse. Some CSS tricks could neaten it up a bit.

Mike like what any ideas on how i can do that? I Know i have to scale it down bigtime and also include as many products as possible. Basically one day i hope to have almost every single item we sell in the store on the site. I know that will be massive. But it would be good.

Did you notice i placed a Site Index. Much nicer. I know it is more for professionals but i am trying to display that i am getting there.

I am making some major improvements.
Old look of the nuts section (http://www.theheadnut.com/nutsonly.html)
Now
NEW Look of the NUTS section (http://www.theheadnut.com/nuts.html)

Do ya'll aprove?

Not really. All I see is a table. I wouldn't call that a design.

If you are selling online, why not use an online shopping cart script like oscommerce ( http://www.oscommerce.com ). It's free and pretty easy to use. All you'd need is a webhost that has php & mysql (most do). See an example here: http://www.cbswords.com

That way you can buy a cheap oscommerce template and edit it to you liking.
