View Full Version : Adwods - No way to credit account in advance?

Hi - I am starting an Adwords campaign for a client - and so I can keep track of what is coming and going in my bank account I would like to credit my account with say £40 at the beginning rather than wait until they bill me in 30 days.

I am going skiing today and will not have the chance to check on the account much.

I could just set up the daily maximum accordingly but does anyone know if it is possible to pre pay?

TIA

Dan

I don't think so... though it may be best contacting Google about it.

I'll try that. I have a £100 budget to start with so may just go through Overture.

I can't get adwords to set me up an account, I've tried on loads of computers it comes up with the same error...

So annoying - "you'll be up in minutes" is such a fallacy - I understand that certain keywords need to be verfied for many reasons - but it would be nice if they actually tell you rather than just make it look like everythings hunky dory. "pending review" instead of "active".

I have had a clients campaign waiting to start showing ads for about 4 days now + I got a free £50 voucher so have set up one for the ski site, same thing - waiting for review!

I got a £50 voucher, but they wouldn't let me use it as I was already an advertiser :(

Really? They wouldn't let you use it for the same site you already had an account for or they wouldn't let you use it for another site?

Ski ads are now live but I set that campaign up after my clients and I am meeting with him in under an hour! :(

They wouldn't let me use it full stop unfortunately :(

I couldn't use it as it ran out yesterday and I never managed to use it. The voucher has OFFPUTTED me from being an advertiser with them, and I now feel google's service is shabby. I am now going to use Overture & DMOZ to search.

lol. Incka, you're such a drama queen.

I've not had any problems with Adwords, apart from not being able to use trademarks.

Mike, I already had an adwords account, and they let me use my voucher without any problems. Maybe because I had the account under a month or something?

Really? It didn't do anything when I tried adding it.

How did you know you had funds in your account chromate?

I looked at my accounts section and my account had been credited £50 straight after entering the voucher code.

Oh, didn't work for me then :)

I think certain vouchers can be credited to your account whereas others are for people brand new to adwords.

The £50 I got was for a brand new account as the other accoutn was for my client but I am just administering it.

The one me and Chromate got were the same though.

They were the same promotion, not the same voucher...

It was all automated though, they would not be advertising one thing, and giving different vouchers away at the same time.

I think it will probably be because I only had the account open for about a week before I used the voucher. So maybe it was still classed as a "new" voucher. Not sure.

Hope they don't ask for the £50 back. It's been spent :)
