Website issue

Hi all,

here is my issue:

we have a web server runing inside our local network behind a firewall, and what we want is all local users to open our company site (hosted in that web server) by typing in i.e. the domain name (for example www.example.com). At this moment we can only view it by typing the internal ip or the server's name (192.168.1...).

Would editing the windows hosts file of all people in the company be impractical?
