As far as types of websites is concerned? I thought it might be a good idea to get to know what everyone's strengths are - it may help us help each other, and maybe even know who we can go to directly for help.

I think my strength is in community management/design. I've run a number of community-based sites (different types of communities, not all forums), all successful for their time. I'd be happy to help advise people on community/stickiness features for their sites.

I'll tell you what I wish I knew -- Flash.

I have a few ideas for little flash games/tools for websites.

I wish I knew flash too. Making my own flash games would be ace, and get me alot more traffic... I think my expertise is making a large profit per visitors of entertainment sites. My MSN site brings in about 5 cents per visitor.

Chris - if you ever decide to hire someone to do it, checkout www.mixart.com. I've not been in touch with him for a couple of years, but knew him way back in 96 and onwards via IRC. He's a great flash designer, and has also done some neat games. Used to design for MSN in Australia, and freelanced his way around the world.

Area of expertise? I don't think I've got one!

I seem to just be average at a lot of things instead :)

Regarding Flash, I started to learn it a few years ago but eventually determined that learning illustration was the hardest part. Flash is just another program, but it was my sister that got the creative genes.

A Flash alternative is Swish:

It used to be much simpler and easier to learn, but now they've added so many features I'm not sure.

Think of a style. I thought of a barbers shop spinning thing, you know what I mean, like the one in this picture: http://www.artsmia.org/ceramics/barbers_bowl/images/shop.gif , but with different colours...

I like to think that I'm good at content organization, IE: knowing what kind of navigation is both practical and elegant, organizing things in a user-friendly way, and just have a strong feel of what kinds of colors and layouts work in various contexts.

Other than that, I'm pretty strong with PHP.

Wish I were a tad stronger with graphics.

Is there anybody here that can program php managed systems that work at a cheap cost? I am looking for a cheap coder that is willing to take on new projects...

I'm also starting to become quite good at CSS-only designs ( XHTML Strict ). My site made the Cssvault.com so that means something :p
