At last I've done it!

I used uk-plc.net (proof that the first option on google for searches gets the business) to register it. I'm the sole shareholder, and I'm a director and the secretory. Another family member who is already a director of another company is another director.

Now I can impress people visiting my website by putting 'Incka Limited' instead of 'The Incka Group' and I can claim computer costs against tax...

You can also impress people by putting Director, Incka Limited in you sig!

In the US, I am allowed to deduct computer costs for computers used for my business as a sole proprietor. Is this not the case in the UK?

I was saying that if I pay tax, I can put computer costs against it. Say I got £2000 in tax, but I had bought a computer for £2000 earlier in the year I would not pay that tax.

Nice! How much did it cost you?

Don't call yourself Managing Director. It is pretentious. There have been far to many forum people calling themselves President of this or CEO of that. Most people don't take things like that posted in forums seriously. In fact it might actually make you look bad.

I needed to buy something for the business and didn't want to pay VAT on it as it was a design. MG: It only cost £42.50
