Search behind paywall?

Does it exist? Is there an existing or planned search engine that will explore behind pay-walls in order to rank results?

Surely until that happens many top information websites will just exist in a secret and unranked ‘world wide black hole’?

At the moment, websites have to be designed with key-word loaded summaries to attract search crawls. And so we get lots of information poor, keyword and advertising heavy sites on page one.

Anyone know?
