Hi everyone, My name is Mirjan and i am one of the owners of Unique Visions Event Planning. I got a basic flash website up to show what my company is all about, i would greatly appreciate it if you give me some pointers and comments on how to improve it, or if it even looks legit and professional enough to be taken seriously. Again i am not looking to build the best website in the world, just something that will hopefully convince my potential costumers to let my company plan their next event.
Here is the website link: www.uniquevisionsep.com
sincerely,
Mirjan Cafuli

Mirjan,
I regret to say that I didn't like it.
I don't like any sites that require me to scroll left and right in addition to up and down. And I have a large 1920x1200 screen. I don't even know what the site would look like on a smaller screen.

Thanks for taking the time and responding. I am on the 1280 x 800 and i don't have to scroll left and right. Ill go on a couple different computers and see how it works. Except for that, did you find anything else that you did not like? Again thanks for taking the time.

Yes, and I think I know what's wrong.
You are using Flash, right? So, it seems that it's not resizing properly. your images open up jagged on my large screen. as if they are blown up, but not with proper resolution, so the edges are large square pixels.
I know Flash can look cool, but I personally think it should be avoided, unless there is a really good reason why one must use it.
I personally stick to a very simple principle. If there is a tool that I must use for a job, I use it. But if I don't have to use that tool, I don't use it, just because it is a cool tool.
also, I really hope I don't sound negative. You are asking for feedback and I am giving you my honest opinion. Sometimes negative feedback can come across the wrong way. I mean it with the best of intentions, to help you out, since you are taking the trouble to ask for feedback.
I think always the simplest solution is best. Simplest in the log run, looking at the big picture. What will give you less maintenance in the future, etc.

You are not sounding negative at all. In fact i really appreciate you taking the time to respond.
I went with trendy flash site builder because it looked easy, and they had some eye catching designs.
Also I don't have any experience with website building.
I will try to change things up and see how it works out.

Hi
Im running a 1280 by 1024 and i have the same scrolling problem
Depending on wher my mouse is all 4 boxes rush past in the opposite making it very hard to click any box at all.
Maybe putting boxes in a 2 by 2 way so they dont move would be better or animate when you hover over them if you really want to stick with flash :)

I don't have any scrolling problem but I will prefer the content area in plain html not flash. You will face SEO issues and display problem with current design.

I think your branding was good, benefit statement right up front but it got lost in the moving graphics that were so fast I got dizzy and the basic graphics don't communicate event right away.
If you people it up a bit, (photo of people celebrating) and make your branding statement the leading visual you probably would have got me to keep watching instead of clicking off the page.
Test and measure till you get right. Just been through that process with one of my sites. Good luck.
