Hi guys,
Does PageRank die when domain expire? I am trying to buy an old expired domain.
Pls help.

Google will often zero out the PR yes to avoid people piggybacking on them. Not always, but often. So you're making a gamble.

It depend on the offline period and timing of the domains and also how many links are pointing at them. When a domain is expired today and then renewed next week, everything might function properly but buying a domain which was PR7 three years ago and then has not been online since today, well...?

Page rank is mainly based on no. of back links that a particular domain receive. So if you buy a domain that receive links from authority sites them most probably its page will remain active for a longer period of time.

If it's not been too long from the expiration date anyone should be alright.

I never luck getting page rank once it dropped.this time, I am no longer looking for page rank, old domain is enough for me, with old domain and little tricks I can get PR faster then new born domain
