help needed with building a website

Hi everyone, i am a complete newbie , and have just built the first page for my website using Adobe CS3 , i built this rough page with the help of a tutorial on adobe cs3 , everything went well .The only thing i cant get is that when i type in my address with a www. , i get the webpage of my host saying this page is inactive and when i type the same address with an http i get the page i created. what do i need to do to see my site when i type in www.

I think there are 2 possible errors, maybe your website hasn't filename index.html because this is a default home page or welcome message of your website. Second maybe has technical a problem in web hosting that you use.
