I need a new host. I feel that with my current one I'm paying too much and not getting enough features for it.

Please post who you are currently with, what your good/bad experiences have been with them, etc.

addvaluehost.com - don't go with them. they were excellent at first, but in recent months their support has been shocking (like 3-7 days to get a reply from an email) and I have had a load of problems with mysql over the last week.

dathorn.com or lightningservers.net

I have accounts with both of them and they're both great. Yes, they have problems every now and again, but it only normally results in a few minutes down time at most and they always keep you informed. I would say lightningservers are slightly better, but you pay a bit more for them.

If youre using less than ~750Mb/month I would thoroughly recommend purplecloud.net. Not a single complaint, just excellent service.

I HIGHLY reccommend http://www.extremeis.net

Been using it for over 7 months with 0 problems.

Watch out on dathorn, Ive heard they oversell the bandwidth and things are really slow at times, actually I've seen it first hand on people's sites that are hosted there.

DaveM, I think those problems were before they started using The Planet. I've certainly not had any problems with speed. Not sure about overselling bandwidth, as I don't use too much anyway.

I'm using hostony. Very happy. If I have a problem it's sorted quickly. I'm so happy I'm upgrading to dedicated managed server with them soon.

I've been with CrystalTech for 4 years. They're not the cheapest out there, but they're not bad and they just keep dropping prices and adding features, all while providing outstanding support. They are Windows-only though, so if you need Linux or Apache, you'll need to go somewhere else.
