Tips for promoting a product to a company

OK - not sure if I got the title correct.

I'm looking to pitch a product I have by sending a promotional pack to several companies. Basically it is a fully functional Facebook App which has been running for around 6 months and has been a success.

The problem is monetizing this app, I see it more as an application which would benefit a company looking to use the app to compliment offline promotion, combining to 2 to create viral marketing for themselves.

So, where do I start?

Has anyone done anything like this, or seen/heard of anything like this?

What would you want to see/hear if it was presented to you?

Have you though of offering to web designers to sell onto clients for a royalty / introduction fee.

I would have thought you may struggle getting non IT literate clients to buy into a Facebook app from a cold call type approach.
