New Google Update, WW calls it "Brandy" but why everyone else needs to call it what they name it is beyond me.

Google's datacenters are still all down, or maybe they moved to a different system. Use this ip:

http://64.233.161.99/

To test it.

So far it looks real good. My two most important coupon listings are back to the first page. The other keywords of mine I checked are good too.

I'll be happy when I'm in at least the top 9999 for 0% credit cards  Or even the top 9 ;)

I'm back too Chris!
Wow! In fact, I'm ranked even higher than many of my SERPs from pre-November. Doesn't appear to have taken effect yet, according to my tracking counter.

However... I have seen GoogleGuy post many times to confirm that 64.233.161.99 is the new data to be moved to the live datacenters.

Would an early celebration jinx this?!?!

I would like to apologize for any negativity I have shown towards Google. I will open up and admit that all negativity was out of emotion and confusion from their Florida and Austin updates. Thanks Google for making me a believer once again, even if this update is only temporarily. It shows you're really doing your best.

GRRR! Most of my sites have been dropped, and one some of the keywords the results are full of spam!

Wait a second... I can't find any 2004 sites in this.... I think this is old results... Sorry to rain on your parade, but these are old results... This is just another widespread rumour... Sorry guys, but this is old data...

Kyle

No you are wrong incka.
This update is going to happen. The data might change a little bit, but this is confirmed.

I'll give you an example then.

Search for 'MSN Emotions' on google.com then on the so called update server.

Google.com has results from sites that were created in 2004, the 'update server' doesn't.

Results from 2004:

http://64.233.161.99/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=i%27ve+overtaken+chris

Not hard to find.

How about...

http://64.233.161.99/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=janet+jackson+breast

Or

http://64.233.161.99/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=site%3Adiscountpowertools.net

OK, perhaps the results are still in update... As Dan said, if this is an update, I will seriously look forward to the one after it.

Can I ask why it has dropped loads of my sites, and others sites here, and replaced them with spam listings. If this is the google of the future I welcome microsoft!

Hmmm... no such luck for me. I'm still stuck right down on page 9. Maybe google just hasn't got around to doing my bit yet. (I live in hope!)

I think chromate is right... It's updated some things but not others...

It's probably not over yet. The last couple of updates have taken a few days to settle.

http://216.239.37.98 is now live as www.google.com....
Im not liking this...

I thought the 64.x datacenter was going to jump in... I hope this isn't over yet, GoogleGuy mentioned 2 or 3 times that 64.x was the new data.

Chris you around?

Kyle
02-14-2004, 05:29 PM
Ahh... it's dancing now.
The awesome 64.x results are showing up, just like an old school dance! Check www, www2, www3. You'll see the 216 results and the 64 results. :)

Wow. Thank you google!

All my keywords/prases that were droped with the last update are back in their normal positions. PLUS.... I'm ranking high on a bunch of other terms that I've been trying for.

Great update.

I've been pretty much dropped for all the decent keywords I was ranking (even poorly) for.

Although I'm personally now no. 6 for 'London UK Web Development'

* According to digitalpoint.com

This is getting quite good now... My friend danced the the No.1 position for a term which is searched for 50,000 times a day... Sadly fastclick don't want his site though... Im going to help him have to try for networks such as advertising.com and maxonline...

And using wordtracker I've found a great keyword to target, and this one will get into fastclick...

Digitalpoint is giving me some weird results lately. A few days back it said I was #6 for carbhoydrate counter which made sense. I got excited, I looked, and I was still #82!

Unfortunately, this update has done absolutely nothing for me at all. But then, I wasn't hit in the November update. I only got hit in that one about a month back, which is interesting. Maybe google are rectifying mistakes made with Florida.

Andddddd... Maybe on the next update, they'll rectify the January update and I'll be alright again!

MarkB

And now it's back LOL

Still #6 for london uk web development though

And #1 for 'Worldwide Charity' :)

GoogleGuy has confirmed it at WW again...
http://64.233.161.99 is the "wave of the futre", his quote. He said that will be the datacenter which goes live on www.google.com over the next few days. He says it could be a long update.

Phew...

LOL - I'm #1 for "JPCache Tutorial" as well. Nice :)

edit - I've just checked keywords based on phrases I have linked from my main domain using H1 tags - nice, high results!

Proof that H1 tags work! Even as links :)

Don't worry about what digitalpoint says right now. They're statistics will not be accurate until things settle (Monday or Tuesday probably).

Hmm, yea i sure hope that it hasn't updated everything yet either because it wouldn't be a nice update for me! I'm new to this game but im still enjoying it! :D

No PR update on pages up since just before Austin, though - and I've put up quite a few. :)

Does anyone know if Digitalpoint's data/info is based on the new update? According to DP I've been completely dropped from a bunch of keywords (no biggie, seeing as I get sod all traffic anyway).

Dan Morgan
02-18-2004, 08:45 AM
I am seeing differences in DP's results. On DP I am top for a keyphrase, but on google.com I am 3rd under a different domain I use and on page 3 for the actual domain in DP.

DP uses Googles API which is obviosuly different to whats live at the moment.
