Wow, tell me how you really feel.

The forum plugin can be switched to be just for unregistered users.

And the blog plugin, at most, requires a few seconds of waiting or a second click. Of all the earth shatterning annoyances, this doesn't seem like one.

But hey, I'm glad people are using it I guess.

Actually Ken, installing this plugin is just as easy (assuming you use Wordpress). You really just upload it, and activate it in your admin.

Google's whole screwing around with PR in regards to rel=nofollow links totally stinks. How many of us have blogs that allow user comments and allow commentators to link to their own site and other stuff in the comment field. rel=nofollow was supposed to address the whole issue and negate the search engine value of these types of links (thus reducing comment spam) without penalizing the site in question. Clearly PR being bled off by rel=nofollow links is a form of penalizing sites.

It seems the easiest way to deal with some of this issue is to not link commentators' names to their sites. At least for now I have removed said links from my blog.
